Medication Rebates for Dermatology Treatments

Some pharmaceutical manufacturers make medication rebate coupons and savings cards available to help defray the cost of their prescription medicines.

In most cases, these must be submitted along with proof of having purchased the medication from the pharmacy.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • Savings are not available for all products, and offers may be time-limited. Please confirm the expiration date.
  • See the eligilibilty criteria from the manufacturer. Not all patients will qualify.
  • Medication coupons or rebates are prohibited in some states, such as Massachusetts. Please check with your own pharmacy to be sure that these offerings are valid in your state.
  • These coupons cannot be used for prescriptions that are paid for by state or federal health insurance programs such as Medicaid, or Medicare.

Acne Medications

Medications that may be used for the treatment of acne include the following:

  • Acanya® Gel Savings. The Acanya® Gel savings card provides savings on the prescription cost of Acanya® Gel (clindamycin + benzoyl peroxide). Acanya® Gel is a prescription-only medication that is applied to the skin for the treatment of acne. It combines two acne medications into one convenient formulation. Acanya® Gel is available in a pump. (See link below.)
  • Aczone® Free Sample. Aczone® provides the opportunity to enroll for a free sample of Aczone® (dapsone) for the treatment of acne. Aczone® is a prescription-only medication that has a unique mechanism of action. It is not a benzoyl peroxide, nor an antibiotic. (See link below.)
  • Benzaclin® Rebate. Benzaclin® is a prescription-only acne medication that combines clindamycin with benzoyl peroxide. The rebate coupon provides savings for insured and cash-paying patients. (See link below.)
  • Differin Rebate. The Differin® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Differin® prescription. Differin® (adapalene) is a prescription-only topical retinoid (a derivative of vitamin A) that is used for the treatment of acne and other skin conditions as determined by your dermatologist. Topical retinoids, such as Differin®, are a mainstay of treatment for acne, and are often prescribed in combination with other acne medications. They may also be recommended for long-term control of acne symptoms.(See link below.)
  • Duac® Prescription Savings Card. The Duac® Savings card provides savings on the cost of Duac® (clindamycin + benzoyl peroxide) for the treatmet of acne. Duac® is a prescription-only medication that is applied to the skin. It combines two active ingredients into one, convenient acne medication. (See link below.)
  • Epiduo® Rebate. The Epiduo® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Epiduo® prescription. Epiduo® is a prescription-only topical medication used for the treatment of acne. It combines adapalene, a topical retinoid and the active ingredient found in Differin®, with benzoyl peroxide. Topical retinoids are a mainstay of treatment for acne, and are often prescribed in combination with other acne medications. They may also be recommended for long-term control of acne symptoms. Benzoyl peroxide helps to kill bacteria, such as p. acnes, and reduce inflammation. (See link below.)
  • Solodyn® MediSAVE Program. Solodyn® savings are available for patients that qualify for the manufacturers MediSAVE program. Requires online registration. Qualifying patients receive discounts on Solodyn® (minocycline), an oral antibiotic for the treatment of acne. (See link below.)
  • Veltin® Savings. The Veltin® Prescription Savings Card provides savings on the prescription cost of Veltin® (clindamycin + tretinoin) for the treatment of acne. Veltin® is available by prescription-only for use on the skin. It combines two active ingredients into one convenient formulation. (See link below.)

Atopic Dermatitis & Allergy Medications

Medications that may be prescribed for the treatment of contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and other allergic conditions that affect the skin include the following:

  • Allegra® Savings. Allegra® is an oral antihistamine for the treatment of allergies. The manufacturer provides discounts that vary depending on the formulation. (See link below.)
  • Zyrtec® Rebate. The Zyrtec® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Zyrtec® prescription. Zyrtec® (cetirizine) is a prescription-only antihistamine used for the treatment of allergies. Zyrtec provides non-sedating relief of such allergy symptoms as sneezing, runny nose, and watering eyes. Corticosteroids and Psoriasis Medications

  • Clobex® Rebate. The Clobex® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Clobex® prescription. Clobex® (clobetasol propionate 0.05%) Spray, Shampoo and Lotion are indicated to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis and are not recommended for use on anyone younger than 18 years of age.   • Taclonex® Savings. The Taclonex® savings offers a $0 co-pay on Taclonex® ointment and Taclonex® Scalp used for the treatment of psoriasis. Taclonex® is a prescription-only medication that contains calcipotriene (a vitamin D derivative) and betamethasone (a topical corticosteroid). Taclonex® may be used alone or in combination with other psoriasis medications. (See link below.)
  • Vanos® Savings. Vanos® is a potent corticosteroid that is applied to the skin for the treatment of psoriasis and other dermatoses (inflammatory skin conditions). Vanos® is available by prescription-only. Discounts are available through the manufacturer's MediSAVE program. (See link below.)
  • Vectical® Rebate. The Vectical® rebate may help you reduce the cost of getting your prescription for Vectical®, a topical medication used for the treatment of psoriasis. Calcitriol, the active ingredient of Vectical®, is a derivative of vitamin D that can be applied to the skin with less irritation that other topical vitamin D derivatives. Vectical® may be prescribed for use alone, or in combination with other psoriasis medications. (See link below.)

Rosacea Medications

Medications that may be prescribed for the treatment of rosacea include the following:

  • Finacea® Instant Savings. Finacea® (azelaic acid) is a topical medication for the treatment of rosacea. The Instant Savings program provides discounts on the cost of the Finacea® prescription. Finacea® may be used alone or in combination with other rosacea medications. (See link below.)
  • MetroGel® Rebate. The MetroGel® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Metrogel® prescription. MetroGel® is a medication with metronidazole used for the treatment of rosacea, a chronic skin condition that involves facial flushing, redness, engorged blood vessels, and, in some cases, thickened skin.   • Oracea® Rebate. The Oracea® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Oracea® prescription. Oracea® is a prescription medication for the treatment of rosacea that consists of low-dose doxycycline. The low dose of Oracea® provides a safe and effective means of reducing the inflammation of rosacea without the side effects normally associated with higher doses used to fight infections. Oracea® may be used alone or in combination with other topical medications, such as metronidazole (MetroGel®, Nortitate®) or azelaic acid (Finacea®) (See link below.)

Other Medications to Treat Skin Conditions

  • Refissa® Savings. Refissa® (tretinoin) is a topical retinoid that is prescribed for the treatment of aging skin, including wrinkles and uneven pigmentation (dark areas). The rebate coupon may provide savings on the cost of the medication. (See link below.)
  • Vaniqa® Rebate. The Vaniqa® rebate may help you reduce the cost of filling your Vaniqa® prescription. Vaniqa® (eflornithine) is a prescription medication that is used for the reduction of unwanted hair. Vaniqa® is often used in combination of other hair reduction procedures, such as laser hair reduction. (See link below.)
  • Zyclara® Rebate. The Zyclara® cream rebate is available for savings on Zyclara® (imiquimod) Cream, 3.75% which is prescribed from the treatment of actinic keratosis (AKs), a precancerous skin lesion, and genital warts. This medication may be used in combination with other AK treatments, including cryotherapy.  Zyclara® works by activating the immune system cells in the skin. (See link below.)
